In the Community
At AllSouth, our commitment to service doesn't stop with our members. Part of our mission is to make a difference and improve the quality of life for the communities we serve. We continuously support local organizations, causes, and charities through volunteer opportunities, sponsorships, and donations. We've mainly focused on groups that support the military, families in crisis, homelessness, and hunger in the Midlands area. We've also committed $35,000 in support of local community events that help enrich the neighborhoods in which we live and serve.
This year, we have supported our community through various events and commitments, including the Cottontown Art Crawl, Dickerson Children's Advocacy Center Signature Event, Harvest Hope's Backpack program, and many more. Our dedication to supporting our community has extended to events such as the Central SC Habitat for Humanity's Brew 2 Build, Riverbanks Zoo Brew at the Zoo, and the Midlands Fatherhood Coalition's Daddy & Me 5K. We are proud to have made a positive impact and look forward to continuing our support.
In addition to these events and sponsorships, we donate funds to local organizations through our employee giving program "AllSouth Gives Back." We match our team members' generous contributions dollar-for-dollar. As part of this program, our team selects the charities and nonprofits they want to contribute to. In 2023, our program donated over $26,000 to local charities and we're on track to raise even more funds this year.
Our commitment to community service is not just about financial support. We believe in the power of personal involvement. That's why we organize at least one volunteer day each year for our employees to give back to the community we serve and live in. Since the inception of the AllSouth Employee Volunteer Program in 2019, our employees have donated over 200 hours of community service. We've partnered with organizations like Harvest Hope Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity ReStores, Meals on Wheels (Senior Resources), Transitions, and others. This year, employees had the opportunity to lend a helping hand during our Soldiers & Vets Charity Golf Tournament. We will be hosting a second employee volunteer day at the Midlands Orphan Relief.
During the upcoming holiday season, we plan to extend our support by adopting families through the Families Helping Families assistance program. This is a testament to our employees' dedication to community service and our company's culture of giving back.
It is our mission to make a difference and improve the quality of life for the communities we serve. We volunteer our time and provide financial support to local organizations and causes that reflect our shared values. Supporting our community is ingrained in the foundation of our financial cooperative.
