AllSouth AllStar Jacky

Meet Jacky—a people-focused branch manager whose journey is filled with resilience, family ties, and a strong sense of community. Her story is a testament to how adaptability and compassion can open doors to personal and professional growth.

Originally from Virginia, Jacky found her forever home in South Carolina at just five years old, after a childhood spent moving between Navy bases. Once settled in Columbia, she completed her education through Richland 2 schools and went on to study at Winthrop University and Midlands Technical College. Her early career began in the service industry where she discovered a passion for helping others.

How did you get your start at AllSouth?

It was actually my sister who inspired me. She suggested I try the financial industry during the pandemic when the hospitality industry slowed down. I applied and was offered a teller position at the Parklane branch.

Can you describe your path to becoming a branch manager?

My path was hands-on and full of learning opportunities. After about six months as a teller, I became a member service representative, opening accounts and processing loans. That experience took me to Celia Saxon, where I also began closing loans. I later took on a head teller role at Dutch Square, and, after only eight months, I was offered the branch manager position in Orangeburg.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

I’m committed to providing an outstanding experience for our members and being a strong support system for my team. I like being able to pitch in wherever I’m needed, and as I get to know our members, I genuinely enjoy helping them pursue their goals.

“Jacky is always open and adaptable, no matter the situation or circumstance. Her versatility and diligence make her a true pleasure to work with. Whether it's an employee or a member, she always strives to foster a connection that is genuine and personable. As a supervisor, I see her desire to see those around her succeed and she creates an environment for growth and improvement. Anyone who meets her and interacts with her can see she is an embodiment of our core values here at AllSouth.”

What occupies your time outside of work?

I am totally in my “mom journey”. My three-year-old son, Jeremiah, keeps me busy! He’s full of personality and energy—watching him grow and discover the world is a joy. He loves singing and dancing, and I think he’s the funniest kid ever.

How has being a mom changed you personally?

Motherhood has grounded me and shifted my focus. I used to do things on my own terms, but now, everything I do takes my son into consideration. I’m less selfish and so thankful for that change.

What are your hopes and dreams for your son?

I want him to know that it’s okay to struggle, but I hope to give him every resource possible, so he doesn’t have to. Every generation should advance, and I want to teach him financial literacy—something I missed out on growing up. I see him being some sort of engineer. He’s always trying to put things together after he takes them apart or trying to fix his power wheel. He likes to see how things work. If I had my pick, I would want him to be a professional athlete, preferably baseball, so he can retire me and buy me a house.

Besides motherhood, what's something else that you're passionate about?

I love football! Before meeting my fiancé, I would generally watch college football, particularly the University of South Carolina. My fiancé is a Philly native, so I’ve joined his family as an Eagles fan. Game days and Super Bowls have become even bigger celebrations—nothing compares to the excitement of seeing a game at The Linc with all the passionate Philly fans.

What’s something people would be surprised to know about you?

I was the princess of my Native American tribe, the Pee Dee Indian Nation. I used to travel and dance at pow wows to represent my heritage. In fact, every tribe’s princess keeps the title until marriage, so technically, I’m still a princess!

What’s next for you?

I’m focused on advancing financially and creating long-term success for my family.  I would like to position myself and family for success. I want to continue providing great customer service, so every member leaves with a positive experience. Looking ahead, I see myself traveling more, whether it’s with my entire family or just my fiancé and me, while building a life that balances career growth and personal fulfillment.

What's one piece of advice you like to give people?

Pay yourself first. If you don’t put yourself first, no one else will. Every pay period, do something to make you happy as it can’t always be about bills.
