AllSouth AllStar Fahryn, Role Model for People Helping People
Our featured AllSouth AllStar is Fahryn, a model example of “People Helping People.” Whether opening new accounts, processing loan applications, sharing financial education, or giving back to the community, Fahryn goes above and beyond the call of duty to serve our members, team members, and the community with compassion and understanding. Her ability to engage, connect and find solutions for our members are the qualities that make Fahryn an AllSouth AllStar. Fahryn’s philosophy in life is to “Work hard in silence. Let your success be your noise,” which she demonstrates in the way she treats those she comes in contact with.
With her positive outlook and warm, friendly smile, Fahryn has been serving our members and team members for 14 years. Shortly after earning her college degree, she started her career with us as a teller. After serving in this role for a short time, she was promoted to member service representative (MSR) and to member service representative II, which is her current role.
Fahryn loves being able to share information with our members to help them meet their needs and reach their financial goals. On any given day, she opens new accounts, answers member questions, processes loan applications, handles account maintenance, and assists members with Online and Mobile Banking. Fahryn also trains new MSRs and provides lending training.
Fahryn believes that being that listening ear and helping hand to others is vital in maintaining a great relationship with members and teammates. Fahryn’s ability to instantly recognize when a member needs help is why members seek her out when they visit the branch. Fahryn shared with us a time when a member came to the branch seeking financial services after being declined a personal loan by his primary financial institution, whom he had banked with for over 40 years. At that time, the member had a savings account with AllSouth. He applied for a loan with us, and he was approved.
The member was ecstatic, and he decided to move all his accounts to AllSouth, including his children’s accounts. “I have done every single loan for him and his family since 2013, including cars for all his daughters, weddings, and grandchildren. I have even gotten some of his co-workers that have come and ask for me saying, ‘I was told to come see you,’" said Fahryn. Good news travels fast, but great service is unforgettable. “It is obvious Fahryn loves her job and the members by the way she consistently engages with members, team members, and supervisors in a sincere, compassionate manner. She strives to make sure her members are happy. This is evident by the number of members and auto dealerships who specifically request to work with Fahryn,” said Carla, Regional Supervisor.
Everyone’s financial story is different, especially in today’s challenging times. Fahryn believes financial education is the key to help solve many challenges our members face. “Providing financial resources will go a long way to help them reach their financial goals,” said Fahryn. Whether it’s helping members make a savings plan or explaining how credit works, Fahryn is always excited to assist our members in this area.
Whenever the opportunity presents itself, she encourages our members to save, save, and save some more and treat their credit like gold. The best advice she gives about saving is to pay yourself frequently until it becomes a habit. One easy way to save is to set up direct deposit to a savings account you can’t touch. Another piece of advice she would share is to manage your credit because having good credit is essential to your financial wellbeing. Also, be aware of those credit repair schemes.
Fahryn’s drive to help people also extends into our community. An advocate for community service, she rallies our team members and members when we host fundraisers to give back to causes that support our shared values for supporting the military, homelessness, hunger, and family crisis. “For the past five years, Fahryn has organized our branch participating in Families Helping Families. Once everyone brings in the gifts, she wraps them and delivers them to Families Helping Families. She has organized the branch’s fundraising efforts for the Vet’s Christmas Charity Ride. She is a truly generous person and wants the best for our members,” said Renae.
Outside of work, Fahryn’s enjoys spending time shopping and traveling to many places. As the world opens up, she’s excited about traveling again, especially to one of her favorite places, the beach. She’s missing the white sand and blue water.
