We recently interviewed Shronda who works in our AutoDirect department to learn what distinguishes her as an AllStar. Let's uncover more about our August AllStar.
Q: Can you tell us a little about yourself?
A: I was born in Jersey City, NJ, but moved to Johnsonville, SC, when I was three. I moved to Columbia when I was 21 and have been here since. I have two children, a son and a daughter. I also have a four-year-old grandson. In my free time, I love spending time with my grandson, playing outside with him, doing crossword puzzles, and shopping.
Q: How did you get your start at AllSouth?
A: I was hired in 2009 as a teller. Soon after joining AllSouth, I received additional training in member service and other areas so I could help open and service accounts. After working in the branches a few years, I had the chance to help out in other departments at the Credit Union including AutoDirect. I enjoyed working with AutoDirect, so when a position became available, I decided to apply. I got the job and have been with AutoDirect for eight years now.
Q: Tell us about your role as a loan processor.
A: AutoDirect works directly with local car dealerships to provide a one-stop shopping experience. My role as a loan processor with AutoDirect is to review the loan applications and supporting documentation we receive from the dealerships to make sure we have everything. If something's missing or incomplete, I work with the dealership to get the issue resolved. Basically, I make sure all the i's are dotted and the t's crossed.
“Shronda thoroughly enjoys her job, and it shows. Each morning, you can count on a pleasant greeting with a smile from Shronda. She demonstrates teamwork on a daily basis and is willing to help out in any way needed to make the Auto Direct Department run smoothly.” - Tracy, Centralized Lending Manager
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: My favorite part of my job is building relationships with my coworkers and the dealerships. I enjoy catching up with them, learning about their families, and talking about what trips they're going on soon. If they need something, they know they can call me for help.
Q: How would you describe the culture at AllSouth?
A: AllSouth is the best! We're here for eight hours a day, but it's more than just work. I look around and I see my coworkers as my family. We celebrate life's achievements together, like if someone purchased a new home, or their child got a new promotion. We've built friendships with each other.
“Shronda’s presence lights up the room. She is very friendly and easy to talk to. Shronda is always there with a smile and positive motivation.” - Teresa, Loan Processor
Q: What’s the best financial advice you have received?
A: You don't need to spend all your money. Learn how to save.
Q: What are you passionate about?
A: I would say I'm passionate about helping people. I try my best to do whatever I can to make people happy. That goes for my family, friends, coworkers, and the dealerships. I will always go above and beyond to make others happy and lend a helping hand to those who need it.
