AllSouth AllStar Kevin

Our featured AllStar, Kevin, plays an important role in preparing and supporting our frontline staff. During his 19-year career at AllSouth, he has played a key role in training and developing many of the employees who serve our members. Let’s get to know our Training Manager.

Kevin grew up in Blackville, a small town in Barnwell County, South Carolina. After high school, he moved to Columbia to attend the University of South Carolina, where he majored in Human Resources. While earning his graduate degree in Human Resources Development at Webster University, an opportunity to work in training set him on a career path he hadn't anticipated. Stepping from the back of the classroom to the front pushed him outside his comfort zone, but it quickly became a role he enjoyed. Today, as AllSouth's Training Manager, Kevin not only develops and delivers training programs but also leads a team dedicated to helping employees build the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed. He values each opportunity to work directly with credit union employees.

“As Training Manager, Kevin serves an integral role in our organization. He is often the first person to welcome and develop our new hires, laying the foundation for their success. His guidance, patience, and commitment help them build the knowledge, confidence, and skills they need to thrive. The impact he has reaches far beyond the classroom and is truly appreciated.”

- Mandy, Chief Member Service Officer

Kevin's hands on approach to teaching has become a favorite of employees. He prides himself on taking the time to cultivate the "AllSouth Way" to new hires. The employees that enter his classroom can range from the recent graduate that has no teller experience to the banking veteran. Keeping that in mind, Kevin has to delicately balance his teaching methods to reach all of his students. At the start of Kevin's career, most training was in-person and now training includes, in-person, hybrid, e-Learning, and Teams training.

Throughout his career, Kevin has embraced the many changes that have shaped employee learning and development. From the days of printed manuals and traditional classroom instruction to today's more dynamic learning environment, he has continually adapted his approach to meet the needs of employees. Kevin takes advantage of new tools and resources to create and refine training materials, but his focus has always remained the same: helping employees learn, grow, and succeed. Whether he's leading a classroom session, facilitating virtual training, or supporting self-paced learning, Kevin is committed to creating meaningful learning experiences that build confidence and prepare employees for success.

"I have had the pleasure of working with Kevin for a long time. He is an excellent sounding board for ideas and always has our employees' and members' best interests in mind."

-Kendra, Senior Trainer

Outside the classroom, Kevin’s responsibilities as Training Manager include developing courses, scheduling training, and overseeing his team during their classes. He also visits branches to see how new employees are progressing and makes adjustments when needed.

In his free time, Kevin enjoys taking beach trips with his family, watching Gamecock or Steelers games, and following automotive content.
