AllSouth AllStar Joseph

In the landscape of banking professionals, Joseph stands out not just for his extensive experience but for his genuine passion for helping people. Let's take the journey from Joseph's banking beginnings to his current role as a business service coordinator.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Joseph moved to South Carolina in 1999. He attended the University of Tennessee, where he majored in Anthropology and Spanish, initially aspiring to become a Spanish teacher. After realizing that his Spanish fluency wasn’t quite where it needed to be for teaching, he decided to pursue a career in the financial industry.

Joseph’s journey in the financial industry began over 20 years ago, starting with a local call center. Working in the call center helped him gain valuable insight into different areas of the financial industry, especially in customer service, establishing a strong foundation for his future. After a brief departure from banking to explore other opportunities, he returned in 2007 as a teller at a different financial institution. Eager for growth, he set his sights on becoming a supervisor and soon found a position at AllSouth through a friend’s recommendation. At AllSouth, Joseph’s career blossomed. He began as a member service representative, a role in which he thrived for about 15 months before being promoted to head teller. His leadership abilities stood out, earning him a branch manager position that he held for nearly a decade.

"Joseph is a great asset to the Branch Services team.  He's always ready to answer our employees' questions about business accounts and goes above and beyond to assist our members."

-Laura, Branch Services Specialist

Currently, Joseph serves as a business services coordinator, a role he stepped into in 2022. In this position Joseph supports branch staff and business members as they navigate products, services, and policies. His responsibilities include everything from suggesting the right business products to assisting with new account paperwork.

Outside of work, Joseph is a devoted family man. He's married and cherishes his role as a stepfather to his 16-year-old son. While Joseph has many hobbies, golf holds a special place in his heart; a passion ignited during his childhood as he spent time on the greens alongside his father. He admires golf legends like Jack Nicklaus, who was not only his father’s favorite but also a fellow Ohio native, and Tiger Woods, a symbol of inspiration for his generation.  When it comes to his ideal golfing experience, he prefers 9 holes if he’s playing solo but is always up for a full 18 when he’s with friends. One of his favorite courses to play is Sweeten’s Cove, a course near Chattanooga, Tennessee, which he tries to visit annually.

Recently, Joseph said he's also become an avid student of “YouTube University,” where he has learned to cook a variety of dishes, primarily pasta, and tackle small DIY home and car projects. The local Harbor Freight store has become a treasure trove for his DIY ambitions. When he's not golfing or working on a DIY project, Joseph is an enthusiastic reader, finding escape in fiction novels.

As for what lies ahead at AllSouth, Joseph is excited about the future. As AllSouth continues to grow, he hopes to leverage his expertise in new areas, further contributing to the team’s success and enhancing member experiences.

"Joseph is an integral part of the Branch Services team.  We know we can rely on him to tackle any problem with a calm, practical and proactive approach.  He is always willing to help and provide support however he can. We are very lucky to have him."

-Mandy, Chief Member Service Officer
