Thank You for Supporting Our Soldiers and Vets Charity Golf Tournament

Our annual Soldiers and Vets 2021 Charity Golf Tournament was a huge success.

From excited golfers to good weather, food and prizes, it was a great day for golf. The Soldiers and Vets 2021 Charity Golf Tournament was held at the Golden Hills Golf and Country Club in Lexington, South Carolina on October 21, 2021. This year’s golf tournament raised $9,400, and it was one of the largest golf tournaments we’ve hosted in many years. There were 108 community supporters, veterans, and active military service members who played in this year’s golf tournament, and many of our sponsorship opportunities sold out. Through our “Sponsor a Soldier” sponsorship, 13 veterans and active military service members played in the tournament at no cost to them.

“We had a great time at the Soldiers and Vets tournament! Y’all do such a great job with it and it’s for such a great cause,” said Rick, Weathers Contracting, a longtime sponsor and supporter of the tournament.

Supporting the military is important to AllSouth and our team, and it continues to be one of our main focuses for giving in our community. We’ve hosted this tournament since 1996 as a way to give back and support those organizations whose mission is to help our military community and their families. This golf tournament has raised over $316,000 throughout the years for many organizations such as USO, Honor Flight, Fisher House of Columbia, SC.

This year’s proceeds will benefit the Big Red Barn Retreat, a non-profit organization that provides resources to help veterans, active duty service members, and first responders thrive on the home front through programs such as the Warrior PATHH (Progressive Alternative Training and Healing Heroes) program and many others. “It is truly an honor to be chosen by AllSouth Federal Credit Union as the recipient of the Soldiers and Vets Charity Golf Tournament. The community support for the event was outstanding and we are unbelievably humbled by all those that showed up to be a part of this wonderful event,” said Sutton Shaw, Volunteer Executive Director of the Big Red Barn Retreat.

We want to give a special thank you to our sponsors and donors who helped make the event possible with their support and generosity.
