Chances are you've seen a recent AllSouth ad on TV, in a local magazine, on social media, or on a billboard around the greater Columbia area. If so, you've seen the creative work produced by our marketing team, including Laurin, our featured AllSouth AllStar. Her work is everywhere AllSouth is. In the short time that Laurin has been part of our team (a little over two years), she has made her mark. Laurin's passion, creativity, and drive are just a few of the attributes that make her an AllSouth AllStar.
As the creative media specialist for our marketing department, Laurin plans and develops the creative material for our social media platforms, website, digital, and print advertising. She also helps with the creation and coordination of our marketing campaigns and many other projects that come her way. Laurin enjoys her job because it allows her to be both a creative and critical thinker. On any given day, you'll find Laurin working on graphic design projects. From designing the brochures and handouts you might receive when you visit one of our locations to keeping our website updated, Laurin is an integral part of making sure you have the information you need when it comes to your everyday banking.

If you had a chance to vote in our most recent Instagram poll for the charity you wanted to see us donate $1,000 to, then you had the chance to experience some of Laurin’s work firsthand. As more of our members connect with us online, Laurin plans and posts our social media content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn (be sure to follow us!). If you’ve ever messaged us through social media, it’s very likely that Laurin was the team member who responded to your question or comment. That’s right, Laurin also helps answer the questions you submit through social media and other online channels about our products and services.
As part of the marketing department, Laurin gets to assist with many projects ranging from Online and Mobile Banking to branch and ATM design. Laurin can quickly adapt to whatever project or challenge she’s presented with. "Laurin loves a challenge and is passionate about finding solutions and helping others. You can always count on her to step in and help out wherever and however she's needed," said Karen, a team member of the marketing department.
"Laurin is a very creative, hard worker. She always has our members in mind when creating and developing content, ensuring that it is easy to understand and properly showcases the products and services that AllSouth has to offer," said Connie, VP of Marketing.
While it is fun to develop new and creative ideas, Laurin understands the importance of being strategic with those ideas and using the right approach. This is where her critical thinking comes into play. Laurin is affectionately called "Nancy Drew" by her team members because of her ability to do everything she can to find a solution to a problem. From checking accounts to mortgages, she wants to ensure the design and message she uses clearly describes the products and services we offer so our members and potential members have the information they need to make an informed decision. She also strives to make it as easy as possible for our members to find the information they're looking for on our website, through social media, and in emails. “Laurin is a very creative, hard worker. Finances can be an intimidating and complicated subject for many, but with Laurin’s help the team strives to make things simple and accessible for all,” said Connie, VP of Marketing.
Laurin is proud of the work she's created since starting her career with us. Specifically, she's most proud of the recent TV commercials she and the marketing team created. Laurin played an integral role from start to finish with this project. From scriptwriting, planning visuals, finding actors, and so much more, there's a great deal of work that goes into making a commercial. "I can't help but smile when I see our commercials on TV, knowing that I was a part of the team who created it," said Laurin. She's also proud of the popular Welcome Home Magazine she created and designed. This popular magazine is a valuable resource that provides helpful tips and financial advice for new homeowners. Our members can learn how to find the best deals on essentials for their new home and learn what home improvement projects that could increase the value of your home.
In addition to her creative side, Laurin enjoys being adventurous. When she's not working, she loves trying new things and exploring Columbia. Columbia and the surrounding area have grown in the past few years, and there's always something new to see or do. Laurin enjoys going to Soda City market, tubing down the river, and grabbing coffee at local coffee shops. When she's not busy doing those things, she spends her time walking her dogs, playing tennis, and going to the beach.
