Meet Sarah, a familiar face in the Sumter area. Her 13-year career with AllSouth is rooted in service, growth, and community. Sarah's dedication, kindness, and commitment to members make a lasting impact on those around her.
Sarah’s connection to Sumter goes back to her childhood. As a military child, she moved around quite a lot. When her dad retired from Shaw Air Force Base, her family remained in Sumter. Growing up, Sarah attended Sumter County schools and has always appreciated the community’s small-town feel and strong sense of connection.
Before joining AllSouth, Sarah worked at a local feed store. After starting her family, she wanted a career that would offer her a better work-life balance and provide her with an opportunity where she could continue learning and growing. Sarah started her career with AllSouth as a teller at our Camden Walmart branch, where she quickly built a strong foundation in credit union service and found that she enjoyed helping members with their everyday financial needs. When a position became available in Sumter, Sarah jumped at the opportunity to be closer to home and serve the community she knows so well. Since then, she has continued to grow, build relationships, and help support her team as the vault teller at our Broad Street Sumter branch.

In her personal time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband have been together for over 18 years and married for 10. Together they have four children, and their two youngest keep her busy with softball, football, wrestling, and track and field. Sarah says she keeps chairs and a cooler in her trunk so she's ready to activate "sports mom mode" at any given moment. Her husband runs a trucking business and raises Black Angus cattle, and while Sarah says she leaves the cattle to him, she’s happy to help behind the scenes with the paperwork. For Sarah, family is the center of her world and the source of her greatest joy.

Sarah also loves decorating for her favorite seasons, fall and winter. During those times, her home is filled with leaves and pumpkins, or in winter, seven Christmas trees, each with its own special meaning. One of her favorite trees features her mom's Christmas village houses. When her family was stationed in Germany, her mom incorporated many German holiday traditions as their own and since her mom's passing, Sarah enjoys sharing these traditions with her daughter. She believes everything happens for a reason, so she tries not to sweat the things that don't really matter or are beyond her control. “Life is about the moments, not the things,” Sarah said. When she can, Sarah enjoys spending time at the beach with her family, and she hopes to travel more in the future while staying connected to her small-town roots.
